SKETCHBOOK

  1. I noticed this painting in the photos of your studio tour. Do you always work this large? Your illustrations seem so intimate in scale, that it was a bit of a surprise to see you standing next to this large portrait. Thanks.

    1. Thanks Joanne. Most of my paintings are about that size. The graphite drawings in the Unfortunate Events are much smaller.

    1. Thanks Rotem. It's just a shadow. I wish I would have thought of adding a wing.

  4. I honestly love this beyond belief. If I commissioned somebody to produce a portrait for me and it came out like this, I'd pay them extra. I've shared this on my Facebook page and named it the pinnacle of perfection to the standards of my own personal taste. I can't praise it enough, ha!
I'd not only love to see more character portraits, no matter how rough, but I'd greatly appreciate it. Even better if you sold a few as prints- I'd love a gallery of portraits by you. It would be a dream.
Sorry to sound so crazy haha!

    1. Thanks Liam. If I’m able to paint what I want I almost always paint a face. I’ll think about making some prints.

    2. Your faces are great!
By the way, there were once downloadable Unfortunate Events masks of the character's faces but they're no longer on the internet- do you have images of them by any chance?
It'd be amazing if you did make some prints, thanks for considering it :D
